Lukimbi a luxurious 5 star lodge situated in the southern portion of the Kruger National Park and is easily accessible. This wilderness area is 15,000 hectares and is home to the BIG 5 as well as a vast variety of othe animals and birds which roam freely in their natural habitat. Game drives are conducted by informative Rangers and taken on their private roads in open Landrover vehicles. There is also the option of guided walks.

The lodge comprises of 14 spacious suites that combine both luxury and modern african decor and most impressive private decks as well as beautiful river views. All suites are air-conditioned and have fans, safes, mini bars, as well as tea and coffee facilities. The private decks leading out towards the river provide the ultimate `chill out` place or for the enthusiastic bird lover – an ideal viewing spot in the african bush surrounds. The height of the lodge above the river provides viewing points with a feeling of safety and the raised walkways provide guests with clear and easy access to their suites.

The two luxury suites, Giant Eagle Owl and King Cheetah suites each include a private pool and second bathroom.

In a subtle yet extremely decorative way Lukimbi features carved plaster panels showing intricate mystical creatures and African patterns, and the main buildings are linked together with open wooden decks creating picturesque views as the lodge meanders along the banks of the river Lwakahle.  The interior combines colours and specially created pieces artistically and imaginatively allowing something different and interesting to look at round every corner! Photographer will be intrigued by the opportunities to click away both inside and outside of the lodge!

Game Drives traditionally go out in the early morning and late afternoons in open Landrovers where opportunities allow for viewing of the BIG 5!

Lukimbi guides love to share the stories and their extensive knowledge, working closely with their Shangaan trackers to get the best sightings. There is great communication between the two and  Lukimbi Trackers are encouraged to share their knowledge of local uses of herbs and trees, animals and birds adding a fascinating and interesting input on the drives.

Walks at Lukimbi are special due to the large and unspoilt area. It is a wonderful place to enjoy bush walks and allows a different experience seeing animals on foot adding an exciting edge! These walks also offers the opportunity to look at and learn about the smaller things and just to appreciate the special smell of the African bush, listening to the calls of the many species of birds. Walks are generally taken after breakfast and guests are always accompanied by an armed Ranger.

Lukimbi Rangers generally have a special field of interest and are keen to give talks on their chosen subject. Talks are also given on the culture of the local communities and the Rangers have set up a small museum in their office and encourage guests to wander through and discuss the exhibits.

Lukimbi has already created a name for itself as one of the new places to enjoy top cuisine as meals are both unusual and beautifully presented adding to the whole enjoyable Lukimbi experience. Dining venues add variety ,so guests may enjoy breakfast in the bush, lunch round the pool and a glamourous candlelit dinner on the wooden deck or dinner in the Mythical Bomma and experience you are sure not to forget.

The bar offers a great pre-dinner gathering place to exchange game spotting stories, hear Shangaan tales and to sip cockails. To accompany the fine dining, there is a large cellar where guests are invited to select the best of South African wines, including many of the smaller and upcoming Estates.
